Hard To Swallow

Good Morning,

These thoughts are needful, but not easy to accept.  If you watch television or follow the media more than you read your Bible, it might be best to skip this lesson and pick up another day.   

I love football but have little time to watch it.  When I do, nothing irritates me any more than a lady sports caster. (I told you it would be hard to accept.) I have had to put up with rude, loud women telling us that men are unnecessary, how men are a bother, and that men are not needed.  These are statements no intelligent man would ever say about a lady; we are all important and we are all needed – but in football? In my bigoted mind, I just want men commentating.

What does the Bible say about who we are and which role we play in life; let us see how irritated you get from the Word of God:

Isaiah 3:12 “As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.”

That passage deals with political leadership. Women leading the nation would lead to error and would destroy the right path.  

1 Corinthians 11:3 “But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.”

vs. 9 “Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.” 

Colossians 3:18 "Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.”

Those verses refer to family leadership – the purpose for our creation.    The woman was created for the man, and the man is the head of the woman as Christ is the head of man.

1 Timothy 2:12 "But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence."

This verse deals with church leadership. Ladies are to teach women, (Titus 2) but never to be in authority over the men. 

During election time, we must consider for whom we are casting our votes.

Many of us are guiding our children in career choices; we must consider which path we point them toward.

From childhood, little girls are being taught anything but being a wife and mother. The wise adult will consider teaching our girls why God placed them on earth, and that while they might be able to do many things well, no one can replace them as a wife and mother.  Ladies are, without question, the very best for the job. They are superior in nurturing, and deeply perceptive in sensing the needs of young people. Mothers are irreplaceable in those roles. 

Ladies are not equal to men: not in strength and not in purpose.  No more than a man could bear children (as stupid liberals want us to believe). Women are not designed to be in charge of life, they were created to help men. Any television show or movie will portray most managers or bosses as women; in fight scenes, a woman can always beat up a man, and most military teams are lead by or at least dominated by some exceptional female – and all of these scenarios are fictitious and simply no more true than Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd.  

We are creating chaos in society by creating competition between men and women; God made each one unique.  A giraffe is not a dog, a redwood tree is not a yucca cactus, a short guy is not as good at basketball as a tall one, and like it or not, men are not women, and women are not men; God made each perfect and unique.

My office would not function without the great ladies who help me, but the Lord said the pastor needed to be a man. God, in His Own planning, did not make a lady to boss me around.  In countless ways, I trust the ladies around me, and I trust their judgment over and over; but when the final decision needs to be made, it falls upon me – the man. 

It is difficult enough for me to see a superhero guy (they are all a fraud - I am just not a fantasy guy), but to place a lady in that position causes me to hit the “power off” button even if it is a commercial. A lady would have a greater impact in America by raising up godly children than she would by being a super cop, working in politics, or speaking from the pulpit.  

It was Eve who thought she knew best and took the forbidden fruit.  It was Sara who thought she knew best and gave Hagar to her husband Abraham (giving us the entire Middle East trouble for thousands of years).  Also, do not forget about Miriam and Aaron who stood up against Moses in Numbers 12.  God gave Miriam leprosy for her part in thinking she knew better than the man God ordained to lead Israel. If this bothers you, go back and re-read the Bible verses included in this article and see if God does not make Himself clear. 

No apologies! I am so narrow that I think only Americans should vote in our elections. I also think that doctors who team up with pharmaceutical companies and make decisions that cost thousands of lives ought to all be in prison or get the death penalty. Yes, I am strongly opinionated. Thank God, for the First Amendment, and the Bible.
